I'm a poet and songwriter with one book to my credit. It's a poetic chronicle of my battles with divorce, heart disease, and major depression called, "Onward....Through the Fog." Totally submerged in a dense fog of depression, and the survival of seven heart attacks over an 11 year period, my faith grew dim. Early on in this battle God had given me a scripture; II Chronicles, 15:7, "Be ye strong therefore, and let not your hands be weak: for your work shall be rewarded." That scripture became my battle cry, and the driving force that helped me survive the fog. Inwardly I knew that my work was not finished and that Satan was trying to prevent me from finishing it. The fog has lifted, and I'm still not finished! Thank you Jesus!
About Me:
I was raised in the Arkansas Ozarks, near Eureka Springs, by a Christian family that never had a lot of anything other than love. We always had plenty of love. In fact we had so much love that we shared it with the people next door, the people down the road, the people in town, and the people in the next town over. At times we even had occasion to share it with people in the next county over and beyond. This was a love that was deeply rooted in the Word of God. My prayer is to share that love through my writings, based on truths from the Word of God. Thank you

Onward....Through the Fog

"Onward....Through the Fog" is a Christian based poetic chronicle of my journey through a 12 year battle with major depression, during which my vision of life became very distorted. From the point of giving in, to the edge of no return, and then ONWARD....Through the fog. At times I clung to the tiniest amount of faith in God to survive the mental torture. This is my testimony of how faith the size of a grain of mustard seed will truly move mountains. God bless

Just some thoughts

Depending on interpretations of what is required to become a Christian, I suppose I was "saved" at about 6 years of age during Vacation Bible School at a little one room country church called the Lone Star Church in Eureka Springs, Arkansas. Or maybe I was saved at 14 years old at a youth revival that was held in the Little Chapel, which was the church I was raised up in, also in Eureka Springs? Or was it one of the other 12,785 times (guesstimate) that I ran to the altar to lay all my sins at t… Continue

The Valley of Baca

Psalms chapter 84:
5. Blessed is the man whose strength is in thee; in whose heart are the ways of them.
6. Who passing through the valley of Baca make it a well; the rain also filleth the pools.

The Valley of Baca was a miserable, dry, and barren land, totally unfit for sustained human habitation. It was a place you never wanted to be. In my mind I see visions of cowboys in the old western movies who are crawling through the desert, barely alive, trying to reach a watering hole where they can… Continue

The Kingdom of Heaven is at Hand!

The kingdom of Heaven is at hand! A Christian does not need to be told this, as the signs are abundantly clear, yet I feel compelled to remind us all that this is the message we were told by Jesus to spread throughout the world beginning some 2,000 years ago. I believe it is a message that is more urgent today than ever before. And here are a few reasons why, from a Christian viewpoint, I say this;

America is becoming increasingly volatile. Tensions are mounting between the liberal leftists and… Continue

Don't ever give up!

His number one desire in life was to be the very best at everything he attempted. Encouraged by parents, extended family, teachers, and others who knew of his gifted intellect, he studied hard to gain as much knowledge as possible. He excelled in school, constantly gaining more knowledge, and winning the approval of those around him. His teachers encouraged him to dream big, daring him to do anything he wanted to do. In time, encouragement became expectation. As life became more complex, expecta… Continue

3 UP!

The roots of my raising run deep, and I thank God I was surrounded by family who knew God's Word and lived by it! My childhood, in the hills and hollers around Eureka Springs, Arkansas, was one that would undoubtedly be envied by most. Family get togethers were very frequent, sometimes several times a week. Sundays provided especially fond memories of family get togethers at Granny Clark's house, after we had all attended church services at "The Little Chapel." The Little Chapel (That was it's n… Continue

Jack,

A lot of people say I have a great smile. But no one, simply no one, commended it the way you did. I do feel that it is a God-given smile, especially after all I have been through with my health and marriage. When I was low, years ago the Heavenly Father was kind enough, among other things, to tell me that I had a beautiful smile.

Did you say Romans 7? Jack, I am going to have to tell you to "Get Out of Here" Again." Romans 7 is my most favorite chapter in Romans. And yes, it is the most important chapter in the Bible (LOL!). I drafted a book on Romans 7. It is somewhere in line, waiting its turn. But somebody like old Jack might be able to get me to change the publication schedule. A book on death to sin--based on Romans 6--a chapter you have to pull out of the thickets to see its beauty--is just a few weeks away from release. It has a lot of Romans 7 in it.

So, yes, I will listen to your song. And oh, do I need your prayer.

Love,

Eric.

Jack,

"Get Out of Here, Man!

You are so blessed and such a blessing to me this afternoon and into the evening. I know about Eureka Springs. I don't know that I have been there. But I heard it is a beautiful little place. I am from Marvell over in Southeast Arkansas--the land of cotton, soybeans and rice.

No doubt we could commiserate on and about our heart problems and our medications. But I thank God that we can glory in our love for the Book of Romans. Jack, I am going to tell you right now that I am so crazy about that Book that I think it is the most important Book in the whole Bible. Go ahead and "laugh out loud." But this is the Book the Lord commissioned me to clarify for the Saints. So, I have written three books on Romans so far--but not alone but by God's Spirit--and I have tree more coming down the line and more after that.

Now, don't start running the other way, claiming that "this guy is lying." Jack, my cardiologist is just amazed. It's a long story.

But I need a reader for my published books and sometimes for those in the process of being published. I want to know what people like you --good God fearing ordinary peopl-e--think about my works.

Eric.
