"And there was a widow in that city; and she came unto him, saying, Avenge me of mine adversary. And he would not for a while but afterward he said within himself, Though I fear not God, nor regard man; Yet because this widow troubleth me, I will avenge her lest by her continual coming she weary me". Luke 18: 3-5
Our challenge today!
Some have taught that you should only pray a prayer once and not think about your request anymore. Here, the bible teaches us that this unrighteous judge has chosen to avenge the widows request not out of love for her, nor fearing the Lord - He avenges her because she won't stop coming to him for help and she wearies him.
"And shall not God avenge his own elect which cry day and night unto him, though he bear long with them?" Luke 18:7
God teaches us it is O.K. to wear out a path to His throne, just like the widow and He promises to avenge you from your adversary. Praise be to Jesus!
